Do you dream of a pet, but can't get one?
Or maybe you already have a whole pride of cats at home, but you are a real CAT lover: are you interested in events related to pets, communicating with other “cat people”, are you curious about new solutions for keeping pets at home? Or have friends or relatives come to visit you and want to take them to a cozy and original place in the city?
I would like to surprise my girlfriend/boyfriend by inviting her/him to spend the evening together in the company of cats. Or maybe you just love everything new and unusual? If you internally agree with any of the points, you are our favorite guest!
The Republic of Cats opens its borders to you! "Republic of Cats" is a branch of the Cat Museum, its representative office in the center of St. Petersburg (the main building of the Museum itself is located outside the city, in Vsevolozhsk).
The Republic of Cats does not duplicate the Museum's exhibitions; it is an independent, original place that combines several functions: exhibition space, club, art cafe, library and... a whole room with cats! Moreover, this is an alternative to a shelter, a kind of showcase and mouthpiece for cats who are looking for their Human. You can adopt a cat from us or contribute to improving the lives of homeless animals. A little history
"Cat Cafes" first appeared in Japan, where they are extremely popular; you can't get there on weekends without a reservation!
At the “entry” into our Republic, each guest is asked to obtain an entry visa (the second and all subsequent visits are cheaper!).
Visitors are introduced to the sights of the Republic: Schrödinger's cat (neither alive nor dead), a special KOTOtheka (books and games related to cats), a souvenir shop with original works of artists, sculptors and masters of St. Petersburg and temporary exhibitions that decorate both the first hall of the cat cafe and and the hall with cats of the “Republic of Cats”. You can measure your height and weight “in cats” using a special stadiometer and scales, take part in the creation of your own KOTOcomix, chat in a cozy creative atmosphere over a cup of tea or coffee with sweets, use Wi-Fi, and buy designer souvenirs as souvenirs. But the main surprise awaits all visitors behind the magic closet - this is the second room, where guests are greeted by... "Republicans": charming cats of all kinds of breeds and colors!
Each has its own character, its own habits, tastes, and lifestyle. The cat guardians of the "Republic of Cats" tell an interesting story about the Republicans, introduce the history of the magical Hermit men and, of course, introduce each Republican individually.
After the story, you can chat with the residents of this amazing country: some will play happily, others will sit comfortably on your lap, others will proudly pose in front of the camera lenses. Settlement in the Republic is still ongoing (this is a complex, psychological process - to create a friendly feline community, always willing to communicate with humans). Basically, about 20 pets live in the “Republic of Cats”: there are always representatives of the Hermitage cats - Valen De-Lamothe (named after the architect of one of the Hermitage buildings), Saskia, Dora Maar, Gauguin and purebred cats (Don Sphynx Duchess, St. Petersburg Sphynxes Diva and Gosha, Persian cat Granny Mary, exotic shorthair cat Button, Kuril bobtails Makoto Muramatsu and Ilves, Radiant and Cleopatra of the Neva Masquerade breed, munchkin cat Eric, Scottish shorthair Bagpipe, Maine coons Freya and Hemingway, oriental cat Olivia and Bengal cat Gala ). "Cat room" is a real CAT therapy! It is not surprising that you will want to return to the Republic of Cats again and again!
From time to time, in the "Republic of Cats", as well as in the main building of the Museum, interesting exhibitions of famous St. Petersburg (and not only) artists, photographers, and masters of decorative and applied arts are held. But even more often - holidays, master classes, lectures and much more. Of course, the main muse for everyone is the Cat. But don’t forget about other animals, because felines are a reason to talk about everything =). Please pay your attention to individual events that can be ordered from us (birthdays, photo shoots, tea ceremonies, CAT Mafia sessions, master classes and much more).
