Aviator Park is located in the Moskovsky district of St. Petersburg near the Park Pobedy metro station.
Address:
Kuznetsovskaya st., 5
Aviator Park was founded in 1966 on the territory previously occupied by the Korpus Airfield.
Built back in 1910, the Korpusny airfield was one of the first in Russia, and it was named so because of the Korpusny Highway that ran through the area. In the 1920s, it was the main airfield of Leningrad: pilots were trained there, and aircraft and airships were tested there. The territory of the park is planted mainly with deciduous trees, among which there is a network of winding paths and an unusually shaped pond. In the center of this pond on a small island in 1968, a monument dedicated to the exploits of Soviet pilots was unveiled - this is a real MIG-19 fighter aircraft installed on a concrete base.
