The Dickens restaurant needs no introduction: St. Petersburg gourmets have long and deservedly recognized it as the best British restaurant in St. Petersburg. Indeed, a more British establishment in spirit and atmosphere can only be found in the old lady of England itself.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of a historic building built in 1880.
The spacious hall looks like a real corner of Victorian England: oak panels, embossed wallpaper, solid furniture, portraits of royalty in gilded frames, an antique grandfather clock with a chime. The Fontanka splashes outside the windows (it seems like the Thames). Here, the austerity of the Victorian style is surprisingly combined with truly homely comfort, and the atmosphere of an English club from 19th-century novels is conducive to leisurely meals and long conversations: especially if you sit at a table on a secluded podium in the back of the room or in a leather chair by a real wood-burning fireplace. The restaurant's cuisine matches the interior: high-quality, proven, impeccably prepared dishes of European cuisine, served in generous “masculine” portions.
Particular emphasis is placed on meat and game: the famous King of Beef and Pepper steaks, venison or guinea fowl fillets, famous throughout St. Petersburg. The alcohol list contains the best drinks from around the world. The pride of the restaurant is its unique collection of cigars; From time to time, Dickens hosts special cigar evenings with lectures and tastings. It is not surprising that many people want to celebrate important events for themselves in their favorite restaurant: be it a wedding, anniversary, corporate event. Banquets here always turn out to be special: this is due to the respectable, but at the same time surprisingly comfortable atmosphere, impeccable service and - most importantly - the honest position of the restaurant regarding the organization of banquets and portion sizes. The banquet menu here is formed from a la carte dishes, never cutting down on their volume or skimping on ingredients. Therefore, in the entire history of banquets at Dickens, no guest has ever left here hungry.
