Three harnessed white horses - this symbol of Russia has lived for centuries. And the St. Petersburg restaurant “Troika” has also not lost its popularity for more than 40 years. The restaurant appeared before the guests in a solemn light color scheme. The Russian spirit is felt in everything at Troika: at the entrance guests are greeted by the bird Gamayun, and the Great Hall is decorated with a grandiose ceiling panel depicting a trio of harnessed white horses rushing through an enchanted forest - a picture that seems to have come straight from the pages of Russian fairy tales. But the center of attention of the guests is undoubtedly the stage with the solemn theater curtain - in the evenings it opens and the enchanting performance of the Troika restaurant begins.
The famous variety show features professional ballet, unique costumes and regularly changing productions. The artists will delight you with a program in two sections: Russian stylized folk (among the numbers are “Kalinka-Malinka”, “Peddlers”) and compositions for modern hits. So the show program will be interesting to both foreign and Russian guests. It is not for nothing that Charles Aznavour, who visited Troika, called it “Moulin Rouge on the Neva”. Chef Alexey Makarov offers a wide variety of dishes of Russian and European cuisine: rich oxtail soup with beans and Camembert compliment; king prawns, stuffed mini squid with sweet peas and Catalana sauce; rabbit in smoked cheese sauce with young cabbage and aromatic basil; salad with turkey meat, green apple, avocado and fruit veil. For main course, you can choose sterlet smoked on alder shavings, with vegetable lecho and white wine sauce, and beef brisket, simmered for 48 hours, with celery cream, pumpkin and chips. Special dishes are prepared for banquets: royal sturgeon with porcini mushrooms, cream and caviar, suckling pig stuffed with meat with buckwheat and pistachios, turkey stuffed with meat with oranges and peaches.
