Aquarium theater
“Aquarium”, a small cozy room located on the ground floor of a residential building within walking distance from the Grazhdansky Prospekt metro station, has opened the doors of the only professional theater in the Kalininsky district.

On November 26, 1996, in the north of St. Petersburg, director Sergei Zavadsky and actress Anna Starobinets created the Aquarium Theater.
Since the formation of the theater, more than forty musical and dramatic performances have been staged.
Historically, a unique artistic style of productions has developed. The entire repertoire of the theater is based on the author's dramatic, poetic and musical material; familiar plots and familiar stories are revealed from an unexpected side and find their emotional response in both children and adults. There have never been age restrictions in the theater, because a child’s perception of the world and belief in the magical transformation of the stage space have no age. The theater has been cooperating with the Centers for the Disabled in the Kalinin and Vyborg districts for many years and provides an opportunity for people with disabilities, families with young children, and large families living in the north of St. Petersburg to join the dramatic arts.
For participation in the “St. Petersburg Theaters for Children” and “Christmas Parade” festivals, the Aquarium Theater was repeatedly awarded diplomas and certificates in various categories.
A children's theater and music studio was created at the theater and has been actively operating since 1997.
Young artists have diplomas from the Bryantsev Festival and the Charlie Children's Theater Festival. Many students of the theater studio today are students and graduates of Russian theater universities and academies of arts.
