Theater and Concert Hall named after. Dzerzhinsky Palace of Culture is located in the building of the former Kalashnikov Exchange, which carried out operations with bread. The grain exchange was built in 1906. The Kalashnikov Exchange was famous among the townspeople not only as a place where transactions were made, but also as a magnificent recreation center, where Christmas balls and Easter matinees were traditionally held, a cozy cafe and a theater hall operated.

On July 18, 1940, in the building of the Kalashnikov Exchange, a club was created for employees of the NKVD, later the Palace of Culture.
F.E. Dzerzhinsky (now the Cultural Center of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region). Over the course of 67 years of activity, the Palace has never stopped working. During the difficult period of the siege of Leningrad, the club was the only operating cultural institution in the city. There were clubs, a library, concerts and other events. In the 60-70s, the leading theaters of the country traditionally held their tours on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater Hall: Taganka with V. Vysotsky, the Academic Maly Theater of the USSR with I. Ilyinsky, V. Tsarev, A. Gribov, the Moscow Theater.
Lenin Komsomol, Satire Theater and many others. The palace gave creative life to the masters of the national stage - David Goloshchekin, VIA "Earthlings" and many other Russian artists. The stage of the Palace was a permanent concert venue for People's Artist of the USSR A.I. Raikin, the first solo concerts of A. Rosenbaum and M. Zhvanetsky took place here. Over the past 5 years, People's Artist of Ukraine Nikolai Gnatyuk, David Goloshchekin, Z.A. have performed at the Dzerzhinsky Theater of Concert Hall.
Russia, Bolshoi Theater soloist Marina Shutova (Moscow), Igor Kornelyuk, Legendary VIA "Singing Guitars", rock group "August", Z.A. Russia Tatyana Bulanova, Semyon Altov, Sergey Rogozhin, N.A. Russia Lyudmila Senchina and many others. etc. The following theaters presented their performances to the public: “Theater of Plastic Drama named after. Nellie Dugar-Zhabon “Man”, Svetlana Kryuchkova Theater-Studio, St. Petersburg State Comedy Theater named after. N.P. Akimova and others. In 2006, TKZ Dzerzhinsky opened a second site - a small hall.
A music salon in which the best romance artists of St. Petersburg sing (Irina Koro, Elena Gagarina, Svetlana Mudretsova and Andrei Svyatsky), as well as stars from other cities (a cycle of romance concerts of the Association of Russian Romance “Emerald”). The cycle “Evenings on Poltavskaya”, dedicated to the author’s song, is of particular interest to the public. Located in the historical center of the city, with good access roads, TKZ Dzerzhinsky is still popular.
