In 2013, the idea arose to assemble a simulator (flight simulator) of the Tu-154B-2 and make its operation as close as possible to the real flight of this type of aircraft.
Now there is an opportunity to enjoy a virtual “flight” on this “machine” for both adults and children! The crews who flew on it can remember the old days and, albeit virtually, fly along the route, as they once flew as a team.
From the author: “I put my work to this day into this “miracle”, part of my soul is embedded in it. I don’t understand where I get such love for this plane, because I have never been at its controls. The day will come when the simulator will be completed to the maximum possible and I will be able to breathe a sigh of relief, because this legend, albeit virtual, will be alive not only in our memory."
The simulator is an analogue of the cockpit of the Tu-154B-2 airliner, made in natural size and equipped with five seats, adjustable in height and moving on skids:
- seat of the aircraft commander;
- co-pilot's seat;
- navigator's place;
- flight engineer's seat;
- seat of the flight radio operator.
The seats of the flight engineer, flight radio operator and navigator additionally rotate around their own axis. The simulator is equipped with panels and instruments to simulate aircraft control. The steering wheel, engine and spoiler control levers are made by hand, as close as possible to the original, creating the effect of full control of the aircraft. A semicircular screen (d = 7 meters) is installed in front of the cabin, on which the landscape of the area is dynamically displayed using 3 projectors. A 180-degree panorama will create an unforgettable illusion of flight.
If desired, it is possible to virtually get to any civil airport on the planet, set any weather, select the seasonal time and time of day.
The sounds are created from real recordings of systems and engines. It is possible to negotiate with virtual dispatchers.
The platform of the simulator is stationary (the cabin is motionless), vibration is created from powerful low frequencies.
For a comfortable stay in the cabin, ventilation is installed.
During the flight, up to 4 people can be present in the cockpit at the same time (in addition to the instructor).
