The Kamennoostrovsky Bridge across the Malaya Nevka connects Kamennoostrovsky Island with Aptekarsky Island along Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt. Together with the Ushakovsky Bridge, they form a transit crossing not just from the Petrograd side, but also from Vasilyevsky Island. Therefore, traffic in this place is always very tense. The length of the bridge is 180.7 meters, width - 27 meters; The weight of metal spans is 1133 tons; The weight of the counterweights is 720 tons.

Kamennoostrovsky Bridge
Named after Kamenny Island.
In 1760, a floating bridge was built here (designed by architect A.F. Vista).
Since 1802, the bridge began to be called Kamennoostrovsky. In 1811 - 1813, a wooden 7-span arch bridge was built according to the design of engineer A. A. Betancourt. The river abutments of the bridge were piled, and the bank abutments were made of stone on a pile foundation.
The coastal abutments, made of pink granite, were installed by “stone mason” Samson Sukhanov. The bridge, called Betancourtsky, was an outstanding achievement of Russian engineering.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the bridge was returned to its original name. In 1859, the arched structures were replaced by beam-braced systems.
In 1953-1955, a new 5-span metal beam bridge with a draw span in the middle was built (designed by engineers V.V. Osadchenko, V.V. Demchenko, B.B. Levin and architects P.A. Areshev, V. S. Vasilkovsky).
The channel supports are concrete, lined with granite. For the first time on the bridge, reinforced concrete slabs with asphalt coating were used for the wings of the crossing span instead of conventional wooden decking.
The bridge has granite obelisks with bronze stars and aureoles, fences and lamp posts, similar to those on the Ushakovsky Bridge.
