“Don’t Cry” is not only a motto for all occasions, but also one of the best restaurants of Caucasian cuisine in St. Petersburg, which opened not so long ago in the Krasnoselsky district.
Address:
St. Petersburg, st. Admiral Tributs 7
The restaurant is located on the picturesque bank of the Matisov Canal, on the territory of the new residential area “Baltic Pearl”.
The spacious hall is decorated in light colors: walls decorated with natural stone, stylish furniture in a classic style, cozy booths along the windows, separated from the main hall by airy draperies, fresh flowers on every table. In the back of the hall there is a stage: five days a week from Thursday to Sunday there is live music. In addition to the main hall, there is a small banquet hall for 14 guests. One of the most famous chefs in Georgia, Tamara Khubuluri, is in charge of the kitchen at Don’t Cry.
The restaurant menu contains the most favorite dishes of oriental cuisine: Georgian ajapsandal, lobio, dolma, kharcho, amazingly tasty khinkali splashing with juice (they even tie special napkins to guests before serving them). Saji made from veal, lamb, fish, pork or chicken is impressively served on a huge cast-iron platter, under which an open fire is maintained. In the back of the hall there is a grill in which aromatic kebabs, kebabs and fish are cooked on coals in front of the guests; and in a special oven they bake Ossetian pies, lobiani, samsa and seven types of khachapuri, which are rightfully considered one of the best in St. Petersburg. However, the restaurant menu is not limited to Oriental and Caucasian cuisine.
There are both popular European items and signature dishes here. For example, the signature salad “Don't Cry”: a dish for two of mussels, cuttlefish, baby octopus, shrimp and other seafood, which is served on a beautiful wooden platter along with four sauces. All menu items, from pita bread to deli meats and pickles, are prepared directly in the restaurant and are not purchased from outside. This also applies to desserts, of which there are a great variety, with European strudel, tiramisu, truffles and Napoleon cake next to real oriental baklava and matsoni with walnuts and honey. The bar menu is not inferior: it contains the best drinks from different countries, including selected Georgian wines. But the main thing that distinguishes “Don't Cry” is the amazing homely atmosphere and true Caucasian hospitality with which every guest is greeted here, no matter what the purpose for which he comes to the restaurant: to have dinner with old friends, to spend a romantic evening or to celebrate an important event.
